One potato, two potatoes, three potatoes, Forge!

Our Rowley Regis branch has donated a range of materials including flagstones, sleepers and topsoil in the creation of a new allotment for Ormiston Forge Academy.

When our Sales Manager, Paul Murray, attended Ormiston Forge Academy’s first ever Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) scheme, he was keen the local branch should support the school’s initiative and support their inspiring motto of ‘Learn today for a better tomorrow.’

Paul comments: “We identified ways in which our local branch could help out and thought that building an allotment in the school’s grounds would provide a positive focus for less advantaged students; creating a place for them to learn and enjoy growing vegetables.”

Maria Mincher, Assistant Principal and Director of Science at Ormiston Forge Academy said: “We are very grateful for the support we’ve received from Jewson. Paul’s interest in the creation of an allotment is a great example of how local businesses can lend not just their products and services, but importantly their time and expertise to community projects.”
