Costing Up Your Green Homes Grant Jobs

If you’re taking on more work thanks to the Green Homes Grant, you may be finding it harder to put aside the time to quote for potential new jobs. Plus, given the technical requirements and strict standards of the projects covered under the scheme, the tender process could take you a bit longer than usual.

Luckily for you, our partners over at Build Aviator are here to help. Their professional and simple estimating services take the hassle out of costing up jobs, leaving you time to sort the important stuff.

Here’s everything you need to know about their Green Homes Grant offer.

Who are Build Aviator?

Build Aviator offer a range of services to help you see through your project, whether that’s a simple garden patio or a swanky new-build home. The team is on hand to help with estimating, SAP assessments which detail Registered Construction Details (RCDs) and any necessary testing, including acoustic and airtight reports. With years of on-site experience, the team of ex-trades will be there to help you at any stage of the project, making sure it’s delivered to the highest of standards.

Where they come in really handy is through their estimating services. The team will get you on the phone to chat through the details of your project and will pull together an official quote that you can share with your client, including a full break down of materials, bill of quantities and their relevant costs. If you’re a regular customer, they’ll help you go that extra step by creating a customer pack to help you promote your business. The pack will include your company bio, logo and examples of your past work – a great way to give you that extra edge!

When it comes to the Green Homes Grant, the team are raring to go. They can help you turn around quotes for all the jobs that fall under the scheme (see a full list here) in just three working days, making sure you don’t miss out on a single opportunity.

Who can benefit from the service?

Build Aviator is open to anyone! And if you’re a PAS2030 and TrustMark approved (or working on getting approval) Jewson customer then it’s free! If this doesn’t apply to you, then it’s a small £50 one-off payment per measure.

How do I go about getting a quote?

Once you’ve talked to your customer about the work they are thinking about doing under the Green Homes Grant, head over to the Simple Energy Advice website to download the relevant plans or create your own if you prefer. Send this over to the Build Aviator team at [email protected] and they’ll send you back a personalised quote within three working days. It’s that simple.

The quote will include a full bill of quantities, labour costs, as well as material lists – all products that are listed can be purchased through your local Jewson branch. It’s essential that the products you use work in line with the relevant system designs to get sign off from Building Control, so all the products Build Aviator suggest are BBA approved to give you that reassurance. We’ve also been working with Local Authority Building Control to ensure that our products are up to scratch with the relevant Registered Construction Details (RCDs). Altogether we have 15,000 compliant products that match the 368 Construction Details.

We also understand that you may need an extra pair of specialised hands to help you out on the more technical jobs, so you’ll also find any third-party labour costs in the quote to keep you in budget as well.

For more support, click here or email [email protected] and one of the team will get in touch.
