What’s not to love about a job in the construction sector? Workers get plenty of fresh air, lots of exercise while working out on-site, and have a laugh a day with workmates.
In fact, construction workers and engineers have the happiest jobs in the world, according to research carried out by The Guardian.
The newspaper used the results of nine previous surveys, which had all been conducted to find the occupations that make people happiest, and did its own survey based on these figures. The professions that appeared most often in the top ten of each study were deemed the happiest.
When asked what made her so happy, Hayley Chilton, a construction worker for Barratt Homes, said: “There is never a dull moment in construction, and a lot of satisfaction to be had in creating something from scratch. Handing over the finished product, especially to a first-time buyer, is incredibly rewarding”
