Staff from three of our North East branches recently completed a coastal charity walk, tackling a 20 mile hike from Blyth beach to Tynemouth town centre along the coast, through Seaton Sluice Whitley Bay Cullercoats, before returning along the same route back to raise almost £700 for Barnardo’s,
Branch Manager Tony Norton of the Jewson store in Blyth comments: “We all set off in good heart for the 20 mile stroll – six hours later we crossed the finishing line nursing a combination of sore legs, blisters, aching feet and a strong desire to lay down for a week! We were extremely happy and content that we all finished though and managed to raise £670 along the way for such a worthwhile cause. We are already looking ahead to next year’s event.”
