Two of our Hull branches – Sutton Fields and Beverley Flemingate – have been very generous and donated materials to their local charity The Jacob’s Well Appeal in Beverley, to help re-build the Philippines after it was struck by Typhoon Haiyan.
A variety of hand tools including hammers, chisels, saws and tarpaulin were donated to the charity, which were then shipped all the way to the Philippines!
Chris Reader, our Branch Manager at Jewson Hull Sutton Fields, commented: “When we heard of the work The Jacob’s Well Appeal were doing, we were more than happy to supply materials. We really hope that all the materials and supplies we have donated will help in re-building the country and the local people’s spirit.”
Steve Gamble, our Branch Manager at Jewson Beverley Flemingate, said: “The Jacob’s Well Appeal is a well-known charity around the local area. We have supported them in the past through donating materials to a technology school in Burkina Faso, in Africa.
“At Jewson, we really like to get involved with charities like this, as we believe in giving something back by supporting community groups and organisations in the area.”
