Jewson gets on board with Red Bull DIY Project

Over the last five months, we’ve been helping out with the Red Bull DIY project, an annual competition that joins the construction industry with skateboarders around the UK helping them to build their own skate parks.

Back in April this year, we donated building materials and tools to the competition to encourage non-DIYers to get their hands dirty and help bring communities back together. 16 skate stores around the country received Jewson materials and shared them with local crews in their areas.

Using these materials, crews then got to work transforming abandoned places, from disused warehouses to overgrown roads, into some pretty fantastic skate spots!

The winning project went to the Stoke crew who – with some creativity, teamwork and Jewson resources – took an old irrigation ditch and renovated it into a mega ramp.

As the competition comes to an end for another year, Red Bull has put together a short film to give a taste of what it takes to build a skate spot. Watch the video below to follow the journey of three crews who took on the challenge and see what they built.
