As soon we heard about a Barnardos rubberised play area in Birmingham that was very run down and in need of some serious TLC, we were keen to help however we could. A complete renovation was the answer.
The renovation wasn’t easy by any stretch of the imagination; it required a lot of hard work and dedication, which of course our team of 10 was happy to provide with their time, manpower and tools. Not forgetting a number of suppliers that also got involved. In fact, the revamp would not have been possible without them donating essential materials. So, a massive thank you to Rolawn, Rowlinson Garden Products, Biffa and Nationwide for your kind donations.
After just one day of not stop, intense work, which consisted of the disposal of the rubberised area, removal of an existing playhouse and the tipping, barrowing and levelling of 6.5 cubic metres of topsoil in addition to the laying of 65 sqm of turf and the attachment of the new picnic benches, the work was complete. The result looks fantastic and will provide the ideal space for the children to use.
