WE’RE EXTENDING LANDSCAPING SEASON: WORK ON OUTDOOR PROJECTS ALL YEAR ROUND

The summer months are over, but that doesn’t mean landscaping season is too.

Typically, the landscaping season runs from March to September, with jobs often being weather dependent and customers looking to refresh their gardens to make the most of the summer. This has started to change over the past couple of years though, with landscapers now working all year round to keep up with the high demand for outdoor jobs.

What key trends have we seen so far in 2022?

Paving

Porcelain paving has been a top choice for customers during the 2022 landscaping season, used to create a stylish transition from indoor to outdoor spaces. We stock brands like CTD and Natural paving in a range of traditional sandy and modern grey tones, which you can use to help deliver paving designs that are timeless, hardwearing and maintenance-free for your customers.

Another popular choice is Indian Sandstone. With a warm, traditional finish, Indian Sandstone remains a firm favourite for outdoor entertaining spaces and practical uses like driveways and garden paths. We stock 18mm sandstone paving slabs in a range of grey, stone, brown and black tones, so there’s no shortage of choice for you and your customers. Plus, sandstone can be quicker and easier to install than other paving options.

Decking

Composite decking has been in-demand, especially as it requires minimal maintenance and doesn’t need to be treated like timber decking. We stock a selection of grey and natural brown shades to achieve your customer’s desired look. All our composite decking is covered by a 15, 20 or 25-year guarantee too, so you can be confident you’re delivering a quality finish that will last.

Timber decking remains popular due to its more natural, traditional finish. Our PEFC-approved, sustainably sourced European Redwood decking comes either treated or untreated in a range of thicknesses to suit any project, as well as Gripsure non-slip options. We also stock a range of decking oils and stains to create your customer’s desired look.

What can we expect to see over the extended season?

Fencing

Moving into the winter months, landscapers can expect to see more requests for fencing, with storms and bad weather driving an increase in demand for new fence panels. Don’t worry though – we’ve got you and your customers covered. Use our Fence Project Calculator to find out exactly how much fencing you need for a job and to help keep costs down.

You can order our high-quality, sustainably sourced timber fencing directly online or by popping into your local branch, where our team can help you choose the best products for the job.

Garden buildings and storage

You’ll also see more requests for garden buildings and sheds over the next few months, with customers looking to find storage solutions for tools and garden furniture. Our range has outdoor buildings for any budget, from basic sheds through to luxury garden rooms for customers that are looking to expand their living space.

Planning ahead

Customers often prioritise refreshing their garden space when the weather perks up again in the spring, but there’s no need to wait until then. Chat to your customers about getting started on their garden renovation projects over the winter months so they have an outdoor space that is ready to enjoy next spring and summer.
