The FastTrack to a safe apartment

Knock knock.

Who’s there?

It’s some helpful advice if you’re choosing doors for an apartment building.

That classic joke aside, apartment living is growing massively in popularity which means the demand for new apartment buildings is also on the rise (literally). For contractors, this means getting to grips with the specific building regulations that are in place for apartment blocks. From mobility, to noise and fire safety, there’s a lot to consider where apartment entrances are concerned.

Luckily, our friends over at Premdor have developed a solution in the form of the Secured by Design, SoundSecure range – a fully compliant doorset with a selection of doors available in as little as 15 working days!

Noise

Living in a stylish apartment is a dream come true… until you realise the people across the hall are very noisy indeed. Luckily, SoundSecure doorsets meet all the acoustic requirements needed. Composed of solid core construction that exceeds the required building regulations weight, these doors have you covered. Sound.

Fire safety

SoundSecure doorsets are either FD30 or FD60 and they’re Certifire approved, which is good to know. Always make sure you order the correct fire rating.

Mobility

Different projects may have varying rules in place around door widths, so be sure to double check yours first. Usefully, SoundSecure doorsets are available in a whole host of sizes to meet regulations. Bear in mind that building regs will also have requirements in place for unobstructed space on the opening side of the door and the location of glazing panels.

Style

Who says practicality and style can’t go hand in hand? The FastTrack SoundSecure range is available in four of Premdor’s most popular designs (all FD30 fire rated): the Premium Ladder Moulded, Vertical 5 Panel Moulded, Paint Grade Plus and Portfolio’s Oak Vertical. They’re bestsellers for a reason!

Premdor’s SoundSecure range also carries Secured by Design approval – a nationwide police preferred specification for safety.
