Jewson Live 2018 Round-up

To everyone who made it to this year’s Jewson Live at NEC Birmingham, we hope you had as much fun as we did!

To those of you who couldn’t get there this time around, we missed you – but there’s always next year…

From inspirational chats with industry experts, to a cooking demo with our very own celebrity chef, it was a packed day… not to mention the highly anticipated return of Kammy himself!

With nearly 4,000 of you joining us for the day, between us we managed to get through roughly 2,000 breakfast butties, around 6,780 brews and HUNDREDS of giveaways and prizes. Impressive work, team.

Here’s what you might have missed from the show…

We gave away a digger!

Congrats to winner Simon Cannon, who took home a shiny new JCB mini-digger worth £17,500!

Marcus Jefford and Local Authority Building Control

We were joined by Marcus, who discussed how Build Aviator makes the building process that bit easier from start to finish – especially with new Build Aviator Lite, which is coming in 2019. He was also chatting about the latest in building regulations, and the brilliant work LABC does for the wider industry.

Jocelyne Shaw from Mates in Mind was talking all things mental health

We were once again joined by Mates in Mind, who explained more about how they are working hard to improve awareness and understanding of mental health in the construction industry. They outlined how the organisation is helping people to break the silence by promoting positive wellbeing and culture.

We served up four craft beer tasters

Our craft beers, including Inclined Plane, Rainbow Bridge, Union Wharf and the Innkeeper went down a storm at the Builders’ Arms. Altogether we served up approximately 2,000 samples – thanks again to the brewery for helping to keep you lot merry!

Our business advice centre was on-hand to answer your questions

The experts were there to give advice on everything from salaries to self-employment.

At the event, we also heard from Band of Builders as well as hosting a special edition of “Quids In” with On the Tools. We even had celeb chef Peter Sidwell cooking up a chicken pie from scratch, in our Jewson Kitchen’s demonstration area.

Special guest Paul Merson joined us at the BIG Sports Debate and hinted that he fancies his chances in the jungle following Harry Redknapp’s victory.

Think we can all agree that while we’re sad it’s over for another year, we’re already getting excited for the next one.

Thanks to everyone who made it a day to remember. We’ll see you next time!
