Our branch in Lytham St Annes recently played host to a sustainable future day, sharing information on sustainable products and building practices. 80 local builders, contractors, self-builders and DIYers attended the open day, where they received advice and help about meeting requirements under the Code for Sustainable Homes and the building regulations.
With presentations every hour from specialist suppliers covering topics such as heat pumps, solar PV, rainwater harvesting, insulation and underfloor heating, visitors gained a wealth of useful information. Following on from the buffet lunch, there were presentations covering our Greenworks Training Academy, which is a dedicated training centre for customers who wish to gain hands-on knowledge of sustainable product solutions, renewable technologies and MCS Accreditation.
One local Jewson customer who attended the event was John Birch from Intelligent Solar Systems Installations Ltd. He said: “Today has been very useful because green issues are the topic of the moment, and over the next few years they are going to become even more important in the UK. People are keen to get these technologies installed in order to save money, as utility bills are becoming very expensive.”
The next sustainable future day will be held in Flitwick, Bedfordshire on the 16th of June.
