Jewson Counts Down To Christmas In Cromer

The Cromer branch of Jewson in Norfolk has donated materials to help create a giant advent calendar tree, as part of the town’s annual alternative Christmas tree countdown. Cromer town centre is becoming famous for its unusual churchyard Christmas trees, an event that is now in its third year.

This year is no exception, with a 3D, seven metre-tall green and red pyramid tree that is located in the front of the churchyard on Church Street.

The tree, designed by local Cromer firm James Bond Architecture, includes 25 separate boxes decorated by the local community. To help create the tree, Jewson’s Cromer branch donated a range of materials including 16 sheets of 12mm Norbord OSB boards, a variety of treated timber, three boxes of wood screws, tins of green and red emulsion paint.

Greg Bailey, Branch Manager at Cromer Jewson, who was contact by Reverend Sharon Willimott, Chair of Cromer Christmas Lights Committee, about making the donation, said: “Cromer has a great community feel and I am extremely happy that Jewson were able to help with such an important donation towards the local town and its Christmas celebration tradition. We are always encouraged to take part in helping the local community in any way possible so being able to donate these materials for such a fantastic community project makes me proud to work at Jewson and be part of the community.”
