Our St Helen’s branch has set a target to raise £1000 for our charity partner Macmillan Cancer Support this year. However, after only four breakfast mornings the branch has already raised an astonishing £840!
Steve Duckworth, the Tool Hire Supervisor of St Helen’s, along with the rest of the branch staff; Nick, Gary, Dean, Paul, Mark and the Branch Manager Keith, decided at the beginning of the year to raise money for Macmillan by holding a breakfast morning each month, as it is a charity very close to the branch’s heart.
During the past few breakfast mornings, the branch has held a raffle for its customers with prizes donated from its suppliers including Marwood, Nationwide Skips, Nixon Hire, Easi Uplift and Sovereign. Cakes and sweet treats have also been donated from its local Costco to be sold throughout the mornings and the Branch Manager, Keith, even grew tomato plants and sold them for £1.
Steve commented: “In partnership with Macmillan, we are supporting our customers, suppliers and staff to ensure that no one faces cancer alone. The breakfast mornings we have held so far have been a great success and I can’t believe we have already raised £840. We are all excited about our future events to come, and we are certain that we will raise a lot more than our initial target!”
The next breakfast morning is to be held on Tuesday 12th June. If you are around the St Helens area pop into the branch to show your support!
