To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, we’ve announced the shortlist for our Young Tradesperson of the Year competition!
The award recognises the talent of full and part-time construction professionals and apprentices under the age of 30.
From nearly 150 entries, five finalists have been selected:
- Grant Gibson – Glasgow
- Callum Millington – Warrington
- Carly Doolan – Newcastle
- Jon Wynne – Stockport
- Martin Daly – Glasgow
A panel of industry experts featuring Andy Barrie from online builders community ‘On The Tools’, Liz Male, chair of quality assurer TrustMark, journalist Fiona Russell-Horne and Donna Rostovsky from Osma will now select a winner.
As well as the title of ‘Young Tradesperson of the Year’, the winner will receive a holiday to Barcelona – voted one of the top places for travel in 2015 – plus tickets for a football match at Camp Nou and £1,000 worth of tools.
David Fenton, Jewson Marketing Director said: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the calibre of entries, which really show the enthusiasm and talent of young construction tradespeople. The success proves what we’ve known all along: there is some remarkable skill and passion in the industry. Selecting a winner won’t be easy.”
The winner will be announced on 24th March on our Facebook page.
A big well done to all of the finalists!
