When you consider the amount of flooding we’ve already had in the UK, it’s a worrying prospect that the problem is only expected to get worse due to Global Warming. There’s no denying that flooding has devastating consequences – in some cases leaving homes and businesses destroyed.
With this in mind, we’ve decided to team up with UK Flood Barriers (UKFB) to offer its specialist Flood Angel® flood defence products across 43 of our branches in flood risk zones, including Aberystwyth in Wales, where many people were recently left homeless by flash floods.
By working together, we’re hoping to increase access to effective defences to help protect against flooding via sewage systems and airbricks – which are at far higher risk than entrances.
If you have got customers who are worried about flooding – talk to them about Flood Angel® Non-Return Valves. These can sit within sewage pipes to protect basements and ground flood rooms against flooding caused by the return flow of sewage water. Airbricks are also a likely source for letting in water, and the Flood Angel® Anti-flood Airbricks can be installed as an alternative; triggered by the power of the oncoming water, it still allows the free flow of air when it’s not in use.
