7 things young trades are looking forward to about working in the industry

Starting out in the trade isn’t all being sent for long weights.

If you’ve been working for a while, it can be hard to remember how it felt starting out.

So we asked some young trades people what they’re most looking forward to about their career.

“Buying more unnecessary tools that I won’t use!”

There’s nothing like a rack of shiny new tools, just waiting to be used… and getting their hands on the hardware is definitely a plus for young trades.

“Gaining experience that I can use in the future to help family and friends out.”

Aww, this is a nice one. Our young ones told us that as well as all the personal benefits of learning a trade, they’re looking forward to being able to help their friends and family with odd jobs.

“Gain skills and access to the trade industry.”

Knowledge is power. Especially when your knowledge is about power tools…

“Gaining Further Experience and skills to use at home for DIY!”

What’s the point of learning a trade if you can’t use it to make your own home AMAZING?

“The customers and meeting new people.”

Where would we be without our customers? Working with people is one of the most rewarding parts of the job, and these young trades are keen to get out there.

Which is nice!

“Being better than my boss!”

One of the most exciting things about getting into a trade is all the potential you can tap into and the many, many avenues you can explore. No two careers are the same when it comes to construction.

“Being professional and knowledgeable enough to set up my own business.”

Many trades choose to set up their own businesses and it’s easy to see why. It gives you so much independence and freedom to make decisions for both you and your customers.
