Boost for First Time Property Buyers

Earlier this year, the Government’s Communities Secretary, Greg Clark, launched a new £26 million fund aimed at encouraging the development of new homes for first-time buyers. The money will be used to identify and buy brownfield sites on which to develop properties.

House builders and developers have broadly welcomed the fund, but some are concerned over what it might mean for the standard of UK housing. The challenge for the Government is to ensure that the houses developed under this fund are of a high standard, while remaining affordable for new home owners.

To help developers keep up quality without breaking the budget, we have a wide range of high quality building materials that’s continually being updated to ensure we provide customers with the latest materials and equipment for the job. Our branch teams are always on hand with expert advice to help customers find a solution for their specification.

Alongside our comprehensive range of building supplies, we also run an estimating service to support house builders and developers to manager their budgets. This service allows our customers to share the plans of the properties they’re developing with our team of experts. We can then estimate a summary of the materials and labour required and provide a full cost estimate for the project just five working days later.
