As part of our 175th anniversary celebrations, our Stratford Upon Avon branch is going all out with an open evening tomorrow from 7pm – 10pm. The fun-filled evening, which will offer a whole host of entertainment, will give you the chance to learn more about our products, mingle with over 20 of our suppliers and take advantage of exclusive one-night only offers.
Throughout the evening, as well as learning about our product offering, you will also be able to enjoy a delicious hog roast, while listening to live music and taking part in a charity raffle. If you fancy showing off your riding skills, you will even a chance to try out our mechanical bucking bronco. For those of you that feel lucky, the casino games on offer will be ideal.
Here at Jewson we are really proud of our involvement with the Together Charity. We’re extremely committed to supporting the community and as a reflection of this we are pleased to announce that the 2011 Tour de Jewson will run from 12th-24th of September.
Following on from the success of the 2010 Tour de Jewson, which raised £21k for our then charity partner Help the Hospices, Jewson staff, suppliers and customers will once more cycle an epic 1800 miles across the UK to raise funds for our new ‘together’ charity partner Barnardos.
Barnardos is committed to working with the most disadvantaged, vulnerable and neglected children in the UK believing that children deserve the best start in life regardless of their circumstances, race, gender or disability.
We released a video earlier this year which saw us us team up with Gloucester Rugby to produce a short film featuring key players from the team; including Mike Tindall, James Simpson-Daniel, Henry Trinder, Freddie Burns and Charlie Sharples. Check out this “Behing the Scenes” film to find out how the lads managed to achieve those amazing skills!
As part of out 175 celebration we launched our new TV advertising campaign earlier this year. We’re sure that most of you would have seen it and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! A behind the scenes short film clip is now available on “Jewson Site Hut” – it’s definitely worth a watch. Let us know what you think!
Jewson is committed to sustainability and as such we have recently launched a new online tool for our customers. This tool has been designed to help answer questions relating to sustainability and renewable technologies
Since his launch, Jack, as he is called, has attracted quite a bit of attention, with industry professionals asking all manor of questions relating to sustainability. Our most frequently asked and answered question is “why is sustainability important?” This supports our initial thoughts that professionals in the industry are in need of such a tool.
As more and more people interact with Jack his knowledge will increase. This is because all input is been monitored and any relevant questions that we don’t have the answer to will be answered by our sustainable solutions team.
So, if you have a question about sustainability, log on to our Site Hut and put your question to Jack!
To celebrate our 175th birthday, we’ve launched the ‘Jewson Site Hut’ microsite. There’s loads of great stuff to do; you can watch our new advert as well as some of our memorable ads from the 1980s, and play our ‘Whack A Nail’ game. We’ll be adding more to the Site Hut over the coming weeks so keep checking back!
After ten years away from our screens, Jewson is back this Bank Holiday weekend with a new TV advertising campaign – airing exclusively on Sky from 1st May 2011.
The new advert was filmed at our Southampton branch and features a number of staff alongside actors. Here’s Sylvia Evans and Jason Eastland from the branch with one of the professional actors from the ad.
Bradley Moore, Marketing Services Director at Jewson commented: “We are proud of the fact that the Jewson brand has flourished over the past 175 years and what better way to celebrate than to use the media of television to reinforce our commitment to the building trade.”
A clip celebrating 175 years of Jewson success; highlighting the key developments in the company’s history, and put in perspective alongside other major worldwide historical events.
Actor Peter Martin, the star of the fondly remembered ‘The Jewson Lot’ TV advertisements made a surprise appearance at this year’s sales conference.
Peter, now probably best known for his role of Joe in hit sit-com The Royle Family, starred in the long running series of Jewson adverts starting back in the early 1980′s. He was part of our nostalgic look back at the Jewson’s long history and he also announced plans for a major celebration in 2011,
backed by a fresh new image, new tag line and a major marketing campaign.
