A group of our staff recently took on a hefty charity challenge. Alex Surrey Branch Manager in Leamington and a team of five completed the gruelling Three Peaks Challenge with Alex going one step further by carrying an enormous 32kg hod of bricks on his back!
Our St Helen’s branch has set a target to raise £1000 for our charity partner Macmillan Cancer Support this year. However, after only four breakfast mornings the branch has already raised an astonishing £840! Read full article »
This year’s Grand Designs Live Show saw Samantha Levitt make the final of the Garden Designer of the Year Competition, her design was created with the help of our Leatherhead branch who kindly donated £250 worth of materials.

This gives people the chance to propose small-scale developments such as new homes and shops, without going through the time consuming and often difficult planning application process. There are big plans to regenerate mighty Blackpool, meaning skilled construction workers are needed to complete all the work. To help train them, we’ve donated £1000 worth of materials to Blackpool and The Fylde College, in Lancashire, as part of what’s called the Build Up initiative.

We are now at that time of year when we start to get on with our treasured DIY projects (the monsoon having departed for the next month or so, hopefully!). There are probably two main reasons for embarking on DIY, one would be lower cost, but another is the personal challenge of finishing a job well done. But what is the real cost of a DIY project?
