We have been helping out in the recent flooding that caused havoc across the country. We have just launched a new tool to highlight the future opportunities in construction and to encourage young adults to pursue a career in the construction industry.
Construction has a primary role to play in the growth of the economy over the next few decades with a wide range of opportunities for skilled tradespeople.
Over the coming months, we’ll be introducing benefits and offers for those who are ready to launch a career in construction. Take a look at our interactive infographic to learn more about the future of construction.
We have been working closely with our customers and suppliers in recent weeks to support the local communities affected by the flooding. For example in Staines we delivered free of charge sand to the Ashford depot to support the Army who’ve been working with the local council. Elsewhere staff have been filling sand bags for the elderly, as well as working late to help customers load their cars and vans and keep them up to date with stock levels. It’s not only sand we’ve been giving away – offcuts of plywood have been used to help residents cover their air bricks. A free sandbag filling service is available in some of the worst affected areas of the country – please check with your local branch to find out if this is applicable.
We have all seen and felt the terrible effects the recent weather has caused up and down the country. During this difficult time our primary concern has been sourcing and delivering sand and materials to the branches and communities where it is needed most.
Our thoughts are with everyone that has been affected by the recent flooding and we’ll continue to do all that we can to help.
