Jewson own brand range packaging gets a revamp

Posted by Blog Team | Posted in Products & Services | Posted on 19-09-2011

You should soon notice a brand new look for our own brand products, with new packaging being unveiled across all of our branches.

With continual product additions and improvements, we thought the range deserved a re-vamp and the new look also includes a starring role for one of our customers, with Shane Wood from Gainsborough the new face of Jewson own brand. Shane is set to appear on over 2000 products in more than 500 branches across the UK – we imagine it’s going to be quite a surreal experience for him!

Have you given our own brand products a go? Our extensive range covers virtually everything a general builder would require – from timber, bricks, chemicals, fixings, decorating materials and sealants to aggregates and hand tools.   We’re pretty confident that you’ll be impressed with the quality – and the lovely new packaging of course!

Our Sustainability Days have proven to be a great success so far with over 130 people attending our last one at our Redhill branch on 28th July! As they have been so popular we are holding more Sustainability days for you; on 20th September at Ipswich branch and 12th October at Birkenhead branch.

On 20th September building professionals and DIYers are invited to visit the Ipswich branch of Jewson on Greyfriars Road to learn about sustainable solutions, which will help to shape the buildings of the future. The sustainability day which will run from 9am – 4pm, will share information on sustainable products and building practices. The day will also include presentations every hour from specialist suppliers covering topics such as heat pumps, solar PV, rainwater harvesting, insulation and underfloor heating, visitors will gain a wealth of useful information.  In addition, information on the Greenworks Training Academy will also be provided.

On 12th October all are welcome to the Trade and Sustainability day at Birkenhead branch. The day will run from 7.30am – 5pm. There will be free sustainable building seminars every hour and over 50 supplier product demonstrations. They’ll be one day only exclusive product offers and great competitions for customers to get involved in. They’ll also be free breakfast – so if you’re attending get there early and get your bacon butty!

Malcolm Gough, Market Director – Sustainability at Jewson commented: “Sustainability and green building practices are becoming increasingly important and a lot of our customers have been asking for information to help with these important issues. These open days will give our customers the chance to find out more about the various energy saving technologies, Feed-in tariffs, legislation and new products available, whilst gaining the necessary advice to help with meeting The Code for Sustainable Homes.”

Over the past year you’ll have no doubt noticed in your local branch more and more products and information becoming available about building and refurbishing with sustainability in mind.

We know with all the new legislation and renewable technologies out there it can all seem a bit daunting so that’s why we’ve been working really hard to make sure you can rely on us for help and support.

We’re pleased to say because of some major achievements this year including our Greenworks Training Academy, Sustainable Building Guide and our branch sustainability days – we’ve been shortlisted in the Timber Trading Journal Awards in the Environmental Achievement category!

Winners are announced by TTJ on the 15th September so we’ll all have our fingers crossed until then.

The good old British weather means that the chances of heavy downpours are pretty much the same come summer or winter. So whenever you’re working on exterior landscaping jobs – whether it’s a garden patio or driveway – you always need a decent drainage system so your customers aren’t left with a serious flooding problem!

So next time you’re in your local branch ask about the new HepFlow Domestic Linear Drainage system because we think it’ll do just the job.

The guys at Hepworth drainage designed it to provide effective drainage – but the added bonus for customers is that it’s really durable. The polypropylene grating gives it a long-lasting finish that won’t rust or show up any scratches.  The grating design also helps to stop shoe heels getting caught and it’s easily removed for cleaning.

You’ll also be happy to hear that the linear drainage system can be installed in just six easy steps. Grating simply snaps into place without need for separate clips and ribs can act as cutting guides if required.

HepFlow Domestic Linear Drainage System is even included in our latest Trade Deals so you could save up to 50% from the 15th August – 1st October. Pop into your local for more details!
