Giving wings to community projects with Red Bull

Our friends at Red Bull recently organised a fantastic competition to get the UK’s skateboarders building skate-able terrain in their local communities. We happily donated the materials needed to make it happen and after a summer of building work – the winner has been revealed!

Many of you will recall that we stock Red Bull in a number of our branches, so we were happy to extend this relationship and donate materials for the latest competition. As such, teams were able to build their skating hotspots using our building sand, cement, gauging trowels, plastic floats, shovels and wheelbarrows.

“Skateboarding is gaining more recognition as a sport in the UK and it’s popular among our younger customers,” said Simon Jones, Business Development Director at Jewson. “It’s great that through a competition like this they can create skate-able areas in their local communities.”

Finalists were chosen in Hull and Margate but the Dazed Retail team from Stoke-on-Trent were selected as eventual winners by a panel from Red Bull.
