Fund ‘racing’ for Macmillan

Our annual Tour de Jewson cycle ride got underway earlier this month. This year the charity event is raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support and so far an incredible £28,000 has been raised with further donations still coming in.

We want to say a big thank you to everyone involved. The tour started in six different locations across the UK, pit stopping at our Jewson branches along the way. The single route travelled North, stopping half way at the Jewson head office in Coventry and finishing in John O’Groats on the 20th September.

Each year our customers and suppliers work hard to raise money for our charity partner and this year has been no exception. All involved have worked extremely hard, tackling inclement weather, steep gradients and navigational issues to complete the challenge in just 11 days and cycling over 2,500 miles!

Paul Edwards, Director of Sales at Jewson commented “Tour de Jewson is such a fantastic way of raising money for our charity partner. On behalf of the entire company I would like to issue a big thank you to everyone who has donated, allowing us to raise a significant amount of money for Macmillan. Those who took part dedicated their time, effort and determination to raise money for an extremely worthy cause.”
