The grass is always greener with Jewson

This week, Jewson will be joining members of green building councils around the globe in celebrating the UKGBC World Green Building Week – an annual event that aims to highlight the importance of sustainable buildings for businesses, communities and individuals.

We’ll be one of many companies taking this opportunity to highlight our commitment to sustainable practices – pledging our future goals and communicating our successes.

At Jewson, we believe we have a crucial role to play in helping create a green agenda for the future, by influencing our customers and suppliers to design and construct more sustainable buildings across the UK.

Sustainability is firmly embedded in our company ethos – in 2013 we reduced our carbon emissions by over one tonne, reduced our water consumption by 60,000m2 and 30 per cent of our overall turnover came from our sustainable product range.

To demonstrate our commitment to World Green Building Week, we pledge to achieve zero waste to landfill, recycle over one million of the 13,000 pallets we receive each week and double the green energy production from our waste.
