Record Breaking Hastings

Update: Unfortunately Paul didn’t take the record, but  he did raise a lot of cash for the British Heart Foundation! Great effort!

A former mixed-martial arts champion is set to smash his way to a Guinness world record with the help of staff and management at our Hastings branch.

Paul Saunders, a well-known mixed-martial arts teacher from Leonard-on-sea will be attempting to smash the World Record for breaking 1,000 roof tiles with his bare hands on Saturday 5th July in Hastings.

The challenge for Paul is to smash more than 1,000 roof tiles in an astonishing 51 seconds or less. Our colleagues in Hastings have supplied Paul with 1,500 roof tiles for the attempt and provided him with health and safety guidance for the duration of his training sessions.

Bob Perry, Branch Manager at Jewson, Hastings said: “As a company that helps its customers to achieve the best results, we are delighted to be helping to facilitate this world record attempt. The entire Jewson Hastings team will be hoping he smashes all of the tiles within the 50 second limit to earn the world record!”
