To get the best standards in these areas, it’s a case of laying the right foundations. But there are a whole host of products and systems that make it easier for the installer and give the desired finish.
For example, when working on walls and floors in areas prone to getting wet, such as kitchens and bathrooms, installers need to use high-performance, water-resistant products that are easy to install. These can help them achieve a high-quality, ready-to-tile surface on walls and floors, providing the perfect canvas for decoration.
Tilebacking solutions made of non-combustible glass reinforced gypsum board, such as British Gypsum’s Glasroc H TILEBACKER, are ideal for rooms where moisture is common, and include a special mould inhibitor that can provide long-lasting protection against damage from damp and mould. To make installation as simple as possible, it can be cut to size simply by scoring and snapping, and can also be supplied pre-primed and ready for tiling.
If thermal efficiency is a key requirement, installers can use gypsum plasterboard specially-designed to offer high thermal performance. British Gypsum’s Gyproc ThermaLine PIR, for example, is a slim-line solution that is particularly suitable for room-in-a-roof projects as well as upgrades to solid-wall properties.
