Bricklayer apprentice wins a brand new iPad

Congratulations to 16 year-old Harry Ashton, a bricklayer apprentice from Barnsley, who won a brand new iPad after entering one of our competitions held in Apprentice Builder magazine.

Harry, a student at Barnsley College, entered the Jewson competition after reading an article about how the use of e-trading and social media can make a real difference when working as a trade professional.

Harry commented: “I very rarely enter competitions but after reading the article in Apprentice Builder magazine, I thought it was worth a shot. When I got the phone call to say I had won, I was really pleased – I never expected to win! The iPad Mini is great and will definitely help me out when doing college work. Thanks Jewson!”

James Bass, branch manager at Jewson Barnsley, said: “We recognise the importance of e-trading and social media in supporting young people through todays apprenticeships, and we aim to supply all the tools and supplies needed to assist with their training and future careers. On behalf of myself and everyone at Jewson, I’d like to congratulate Harry on winning his new gadget and wish him all the luck in the future!”
