Our very own branch manager Sam Kirwan recently took part in a video for primary schools explaining the importance of ratios when it comes to paint-mixing in a builders’ merchant. The video was part of the Yes Programme, a new education initiative that introduces work-related learning into primary schools through a bank of 90 career-related films.
These real-life illustrations show the relevance of learning to the world of work. In her video, Sam discusses ratios and how using them fits into her day-to-day work, offering pupils a step-by- step guide to mixing paint.
Sonita Alleyne, founder of the Yes Programme comments, “We are heading into a challenging employment market and we wanted to give teachers a simple and inventive way to encourage a respect and awareness of a wide range of occupations at an early age.”
