We’re pleased to announce that thanks to a combined effort horticulturists Philip Blant and Victoria Jackson have won a silver medal for their garden exhibit in the back-to-back garden section at the Horticultural Society (RHS) Tatton Park Flower Show. With help from our team at the Jewson Newark branch, Philip and Victoria created a beautiful garden to raise awareness of Coeliac Disease.
“The garden is designed to raise awareness of the condition and the restrictions placed on sufferers in their daily routine,” comments Philip Blunt. “We wanted the garden to symbolise the digestive system, so the path, ‘passage of food’, leads to the seating area, ‘small intestine’, surrounded by wooden posts representing the finger like ‘Villi’, which help the absorption of food, represented by herbs planted in front.”
Bill Burroughs, Branch Manager at Jewson Newark said: “Philip and Victoria contacted us for help with the various elements of the design and build. We’re pleased to have been able to offer our help – particularly when it is being used to promote the awareness of such a worthy cause.”
Philip and Victoria’s garden will be on display at the Tatton Park Flower Show until 24 July at Tatton Park, Knutsford, Cheshire.
