Our Sustainability team attended Greenbuild Expo 2011 last week in Manchester. Malcolm Gough, Sustainability Director, Steve Millward, Sustainability and Quality Director and Steve Warwick, Sustainable Solutions Director held two seminars, the first was about the role of the builders’ merchant in delivering the green agenda and the second was about the Greenworks Training Academy which was a hot topic of conversation across both days of the event.
The second day of Greenbuild generated a lot of conversation about new sustainable building solutions. Steven Smith, Category Manager at Jewson, spoke to many people who were looking to start up their own solar fitting companies. They were interested in educating themselves on how to build sustainably and were really keen to learn more about the Greenworks Training Academy courses. The customers at the expo were really interested in the FIT’s and Renewable Heat Incentives.
The event was really positive for the Sustainability team and for Greenworks. It was really good to be involved in an event such as this and it’s great to see people are taking sustainability seriously!
